Bethany Church Prayers for Ash Wednesday

A Season of Hope

Friend, in the middle of this busy week, you are invited to pause to observe Ash Wednesday and remember that God made us from fragile, blessed dust and breathes through us the breath of life and love. From dust you were created in God's image and to God's good dust you shall return.

This year, March 6th begins a forty day Lenten journey to discover who we are to be as God's beloved. Lent is an invitation to follow Jesus, God's Beloved Child, bone of our bone and flesh of our flesh, in whom God's image is seen most clearly. Come, pray today for strength and imagination to follow Jesus wherever he will lead.

Bethany provides a devotional meditation to members of our email mailing list. You may view that meditation in your browser and sign up for more information from Bethany.

Sunday Morning Worship CANCELLED at Bethany Church January 20, 2019

Roger Hill, Vermont meteorologist, is forecasting heavy snow, bitter cold, and dangerous wind chills for Saturday night through Sunday afternoon. Because of this storm, the 10 am Worship Service, choir, Sunday School, the Wand making workshop, and other activities are cancelled for Sunday, January 20th.

While we will miss being together, you can still take time to spend with God. A prayer and meditation has been sent out to our Kiosk subscribers. That issue is available online for anyone who would also like to use those resources for your worship at home. As they say, "Stay at home, pray at home!"

May you enjoy the beauty of God's winter creation from the warmth of your home. And may God bring us back together for worship and fellowship next Sunday.
