The Reverend Amelia (Amy) Pitton was called to ministry at Bethany Church in 2002. She attended Andover Newton Theological School, graduating in 1986 and was ordained in the United Church of Christ in 1987. Prior to coming to Montpelier, she served churches in Stratford, Connecticut and Rutland, Vermont.

Rev. Amy’s duties include preaching and worship leadership, staff leadership, coordinating the ministries of the church, attending and participating in Board of Director and Church Team Meetings, support of the San Antonio Grande sister parish relationship, teaching Confirmation and Adult Education, maintaining the labyrinth and Chapel, pastoral care, weddings, funerals, and brainstorming new ways the church can serve the community. She participates in wider church ministries by serving on the Vermont Conference Board of Directors, meeting with Montpelier Area Clergy and the Vermont Interfaith Action Clergy Caucus.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Mark (who serves the Sharon Congregational Church) and her children, Wes, Bethany, son-in-law Jeremy and grandchildren, Charlotte and Sam. She is an avid sewer and enjoys interior design, reading, jewelry making, knitting and other crafty pursuits. She is particularly fond of her hammock from El Salvador and spends as much time in it as possible (which is usually not nearly enough, Vermont summers being what they are!)
